Mother's Day: the real gifts to give

Mother's Day is approaching. Instead of patiently waiting for your gift and bracing yourself for potential disappointment (wow, a pasta necklace?), we've put together our dream wishlist. Share it freely with whoever needs to see it! In May, we do as we please. Especially since it's Mother's Day month! To give your partner some ideas (hehe), our team has put together the ultimate list to pass on. Ideas to TRULY treat yourself. Because remember: nobody knows what you want better than you do.
Fête des mères : les vrais cadeaux à faire

1 - 12-hour nights

Let's be honest, sleep takes quite a hit with the arrival of a baby. Who hasn't dreamed of finding an off button to sleep 12 hours straight? For Mother's Day, order one night without a wake-up call from 9pm to 9am.

Our suggestion: a blanket Le Petit Lucas du Tertre or sheets La Cerise sur le Gâteau for sweet dreams in organic cotton.

2 - Vouchers for free time

As much as we adore our children, we also need time just for ourselves. A Netflix evening, a reading afternoon, a solo morning… This little break is the equivalent of a tactical battery recharge to enjoy being with them even more afterwards.

3 - A weekend with girlfriends

In the same way that one doesn't work on Labour Day, we would quite like to be child-free on Mother's Day. On the agenda: spa and a glass of champagne with a group of girlfriends, for a whole weekend. Also works with a partner.

4 - A pre-Mother's Day celebration

Is your little one still snug in your tummy? No problem. Some women feel like a mother from the moment they take the pregnancy test. Celebrate your new status whenever you feel like it.

Our suggestion: a maternity garment by Jolibump, to wear before, during and after those 9 months.

5 - Breakfast in bed

On the condition that it is like in the adverts. With toddlers jumping everywhere laughing, toast that leaves no crumbs (because those are scratchy) and coffee that doesn't spill. The children would give you a bunch of flowers and a gorgeous piece of jewellery. After all, you did sacrifice your pelvic floor for them!

Our suggestion: a ring by Thea Jewelry to drink your tea with unshakeable elegance.

6 - A breast-friend ally

If you are breastfeeding, you know the struggle of clothes that are neither pretty nor practical and that you can't stand the sight of after a few months. The solution to these problems now has a name, Tajine Banane. Whether you breastfeed or not, add their timeless pieces or seasonal items to your list.

7 - A beautiful design object

Because you lovingly put together the décor of your home and it is unthinkable that some ugly plastic thing would ruin it all, even with the arrival of a baby.

Our suggestion: the bouncer LEVO by Charlie Crane, which will delight mum, dad and baby. Three in one. Who could ask for more?

8 - A skin-to-skin band

A skin-to-skin band for plenty of cuddles from the very first days, then a baby carrier to stay close for as long as possible. You will look back on it fondly on the day they turn 16.

Our suggestion: a skin-to-skin band by Studio Roméo.

9 - A private chef

Because you are fed up with racking your brain three times a day. Pierre Gagnaire is not available? Not to worry! Fall back on Popote, more accessible and fitting in a handbag (unlike Pierre). The ideal companion for whipping up culinary wonders in no time.

10 - A personalised piece of jewellery with their first name

After all, it does happen to forget your child's name, doesn't it? Ok, not really… But because it is the most beautiful thing (and sometimes the most difficult) you have ever done, it is worth writing their sweet name or any other word that reminds you of that unsuspected strength that is motherhood on a ring or a bracelet #forever #mum #love. (Alternative: a tattoo).

Our suggestion: jewellery by Atelier Paulin.

11 - A photo session

Like many parents, you would sometimes like to press pause so that your children don't grow up too fast. Bad news: that feature doesn't exist. Good news: photos are a very effective plan B. So add to your list a family photo session with a photographer who will know how to capture those moments and turn them into an eternal memory.

Our suggestion: trust the sublime Bertille Pics.
